There is so much to see at this park. More than we can actually see on this trip. You are guaranteed to see a wild Bison and Old Faithful as we ride through this beautiful national park.
Starting in Jackson Wy, we depart at 7am and make our way through the Grand Teton National park before entering YNP.
In 2024 the entry fee to each National Park was $30 for a 1 or 2 person bike.
We saved some money by pre-ordering the Annual National Park Card for $80.
An $80.00 Annual Pass that provides access to more than 2,000 recreation areas managed by five Federal agencies, with up to 100% of the proceeds being used to improve and enhance visitor recreation services.
Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It's also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope.
On March 1, 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park for all to enjoy the unique hydrothermal and geologic features. Within Yellowstone's 2.2 million acres, visitors have unparalleled opportunities to observe wildlife in an intact ecosystem, explore geothermal areas that contain about half the world’s active geysers, and view geologic wonders like the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River.
Yellowstone will be part of our Day 2 of the trip. July 30th, 2025.
After Departing Jackson WY, we ride north through the Grand Teton NP and then into Yellowstone. We eventually exit the park on our way to Cody WY. 177 -200 Miles on this day with a drive time of 4-5 hours. Lots of stops and site seeing.
This was one of my favorite rides of the trip. Leaving Jackson and heading into the Grand Teton Mountains is absolutely breathtaking as you are surrounded by endless sites and views. We arrived into Yellowstone and headed straight to the Old Faithful Fountain. There is a visitor center, food, bathrooms, gas and a show. The NPS actually has great predictions of the blast so you can grab something to eat and not miss the fountain explosion. After we left Old Faithful, we actually were running way behind because we left Jackson really late. So we skipped some other sites and headed straight to Cody via US14. On this trip you are sure to see Bison. We saw 1 moose just before Jackson but nothing after.
The ride from Yellowstone to Cody was awesome. Most of the trip had lakes, and a ride through a canyon. There are multiple tunnels carved through the mountains and the air temp drops 25 degrees when entering them.
One of the highlites to this day was the ending. Arriving in Cody, we unloaded at the Hotel, showered and headed back out to the Stampede Cody Rodeo and had a blast. This was a 1.5 hr show and it was very entertaining.
We ended the night at the Silver Dollar Saloon where we had multiple drinks and stories to tell.
Silver Dollar Saloon - 1313 Sheridan Ave, Cody, WY 82414
Drive Time - 5 hrs
Miles : 215
It will be a full day as we will stop at Old Faithful for lunch and a show. Waterfalls, Boiling water pits and more.
