Deadwood South Dakota was by far our favorite town to visit on this trip. We actually made it our home base for 3 nights as we would take day trips into Sturgis or the Surrounding area rides. The energy of the thousands of bikes and people is awesome. We frequently visited the bars on Old Main St. Saloon No 10 was by far our favorite. The amount of history that this Bar has and shows with all the memorabilia and pictures on the walls was so cool to look at. You can see the Chair that Wild Bill Cody was shot in, in this bar back in August 2nd, 1876. Fun fact, that would have been during the Rally (haha)
Bold Murder during broad daylight in a boomer’s saloon on a near hopeless gold claim- all keys in the pages of Deadwood’s loud and lusty past evolved into the now world famous Saloon #10. Where Wild Bill Hickok met his demise and the sawdust still covers the floor.
For more than a century, the Legendary Old Style Saloon No. 10 has defined the historic town of Deadwood. Thousands of artifacts and antiques grace the walls and ceiling. The faces of history live in hundreds of historical photographs of Deadwood’s most famous and infamous characters. It remains the “go to” experience for locals and visitors alike to step back into Deadwood's colorful past.
We started in the west at Jackson Wy, so this was our first ride into Deadwood. What a cool old town and the amount of Bikes here was very energizing!
